Okay I am so happy. I am training for a 4 mile run in about 3 weeks.  Tonight I ran 2.52 miles in under 40 minutes.  I would have never even been able to walk that before but now...I am running.  And the shocker is I don't hate it!

Yea! I use to jog all the time when I was in high school. I'm walking now and sometimes run, walk, run, walk, etc., I'm going to keep it up as much as I can but right now things just bounce sooo much. boobs and butt mostly but I know it won't always be like it is now. Anyway back to you. I think what you're doing is GREAT! Woo hoo.

Way to go!  I am slowly building up my stamina to be able to get out there and run too.  You are doing great and should be very proud of yourself!

I'm with you! I never thought I would be able to run 1 mile, let alone 5! It does feel so good, even though my head is having a temper tantrum much of the time. I find if I do my exercise, the rest of it, like eating right, is so much easier. Who wudda thunk?

Great news -- running is the one thing you will never regret getting into ; )

Be happy.

Welcome to what for me has been an enjoyable lifestyle.  I love hearing about people taking the plunge into running and then actually doing an event or race!  Big congrats I look forward to reading about how your 4 miler goes.

I will offer my standard piece of advice.

If you haven't been professionally fitted for running shoes at a specialty running store you may want to consider.  There is a big difference between wearing a running shoe and a running shoe designed for your foot.  You typically won't pay a premium for shopping at one, but you will get the right shoe you need to make running even more enjoyable, and possibly prevent injury in the future..
