This person posted a blog about surgery being an easy way out! How dare they!
They "dare" write stuff like this because they know it pushes buttons... Don't give them the satisfaction of reacting to them
They have never walked in our shoes and they will never understand - you can't argue logically with them and you will not change their minds. They are not worth your anger.

The surgery is the easy way to lose weight. It really is. The hard part, as in any weight loss, is keeping it off. The surgery helps, especially in the "honeymoon" period, to eat less. But those things go away and you are left with the same things to do as anyone else who wants to keep weight off.
I have to diet and exercise like anyone else. I haven't gotten a free pass just because I had surgery (2 times! I must really be lazy).
It took me a long time, and a failed WLS, to figure out that this really is a tool to do what needs to be done. So far it has done what it is intended for, to help me eat less and be satisfied, so that I can eat better. Whether it will work long term, for me, remains to be seen. I am eating pretty much the same way I always ate when I lost weight in the past. I don't know if I can stick with it long term but it's been a year so far and it is still working.
The surgery is like a hammer. You can build a house with a hammer but the hammer can't do a thing by itself. You have to pick it up and use it. As long as I pick up my tool and use it I can hopefully stick to eating right.

How dare they? Well they are entitled to their opinion, even if it is an ass backward one. I tend to skip over that stuff and concentrate on being a living example that THIS WORKS if you work it. Which is also why I am refraining from reading it now.
