I am 13 months out and still haven't gotten one, so I don't think it is just a female problem.

I did not have one for three months after surgery.  I think it was just due to hormones being messed up from surgery.

You all are lucky, I had mine non stop until I finally had an ablation done, it was supposed to end them-5% chance it wouldn't, but of course no such luck, now i still get it for 10-12 days at a time, but atleast it's very light, in the beginning, it was very heavy and never stopped.

I had my surgery 2/24/2011, started my period March 9th, have been bleeding or spotting since. I am surprised my iron levels are not low,. I take 1 carbonyl a day. I must add that I had a Depo-Provera shot (bc) on March 10th, then an IUD inserted in May, however you would think by now the Depo would be out of my system being that they are an every 3 month shot. My GYN said it can stay in your system for 1 year... I had an IUD for 5 years, got it out in 2007 to have a baby. When I had the IUD before I didnt get periods, just spotting maybe for a day or two once a year or so. That part I loved! All I know is that this spotting is getting real old! Ask my husband..lol

I had my period during my surgery in May. Then I didn't get one in June, but I got one in July.

I just had my first one since surgery last week and I was passing blood clots left and right! It was intense for 2 days then phased out. But I had major period problems before surgery, PCOS, so the fact that I had a period for 3 days and thats it is AWESOME! we will see next month what happens...

My period came early three days after surgery it was intense, painful and heavy.  Between the cramps, gas and incision pain I was at my wits end.  I said what the hell why now!!  LOL
