Just had an interesting thought.. I eat like a skinny person
I am mixing my salad for lunch (eating a bit early today due to an appointment) prior to surgery this size salad would not even be a side salad for me.
my salad has:
dark lettuce leaves
grape tomatoes
red onions
green peppers
feta cheese
crab meat
creamy salad dressing
salad crispy toppings.. (mostly nuts and soy so protein)
it's in a small container 6 inches long by 4 inches wide 3 inches deep filled about half way.
the bowl I used to bring with salad would be filled 12x12 wide/long and about 4 inches deep....
I EAT small amounts like a normal sized person! I may dream of food... think of it..plan for it but when push comes to shove... I EAT like A NORMAL PERSON now!

I'm eating salad for lunch as I read this. My usual daily salad is:
organic baby greens (I don't do iceberg either)
1/2 c cottage cheese
1 boiled egg (diced)
yellow pepper
English cucumber
cherry tomatoes
sunflower kernels & raw almond slivers
No dressing for me - the cottage cheese provides moisture
Sometimes I do use organic turkey, mozerella or baby bel cheese, tuna, shrimp, taco meat or some other protein source in my salad. Size about the same - 5 inches, by 3 inches by 3 inches deep. I also have fresh berries everyday for lunch - today is strawberries & blueberries.
