I am going to be the matron of honor at my sisiters wedding in Oct. well this past weekend I attened a couples shower for the Bride and Groom and As we was leaving my sisters house, she was on the phoen to someone else and said" oh sure we have lots of room, remember they my sisiter's are petite. I looked at her and she looked at me like What? I said I am not petite she said oh yes you are. I have not considred myself petitie but if you look at it I have come from a size 28 to a 14 I guess you could say that..Now just to convince myself of that... I still see "FAT" me when I look in the mirror, I do not feel skinny, thin, or petitie, or course I ahve never been either of those so I guess I really do not know what it feels like. I see the scale going down, I know I buy smaller clothes but I still have or see that fat person there. Does anyone else have that problem. I am 9 mo out. I posted new pics of this past weekend.

Yep! I am told that time does improve our perceptions, but I am not certain if the "I look fat" or "I don't look thin" mentally ever goes away completely.

I think it's normal for a lot of people.  I still don't recognize myself when I pass by a mirror.  I am so used to only looking at myself from the neck up, that I can't see myself as the person in the mirror.  I still see myself as the girl in the fat picture hanging by the mirror.  I hope perceptions change eventually though, so we can appreciate where we are now.

IT takes quite some time for our minds to catch up with our bodies!  I am 16 months out and still do not see the skinny person I really am.  The leader of the support group I attend in Raleigh pulled me aside and took a picture of us, side by side, for me to see how much i have lost.

Give it time.  There are quite a few of us out there.
