UNCLE !!! Dumping question

So, I did this to myself.... I'm not making excuses or looking for sympathy.

I had some oreo cookies on Sunday with my kids.  I knew better, and pushed my limits.  I haven't stopped running to the bathroom since.  Seriously, how long have you dumped for?  Previously, the worst things have been is some immediate running and residual gut tenderness for a day or so.

It's Wednesday, the oreos weren't worth it.  I give up.  Swear off. No more cookies.....

Dumping for me lasts 45 minutes to an hour. Maybe you have something else going on?

This is NOT normal dumping because those cookies were out of your entire digestive system a couple of days ago (depending on what time Sunday you ate them).  Perhaps you have an inteestinal bug of some kind.  If it continues you should contact your doctor (probably your PCP rather than your surgeon); otherwise you may end up dehydrated.

Yikes!  If you haven't yet spoken to your PCP, I would definitely recommend calling him.

If you don't have a virus, you might want to take some Imodium to stop the diarrhea;  you
definitely want to keep drinking water to stay hydrated.

I agree with the other posters. Dumping for me won't last past an hour or two (rest time included) so, for days? That doesn't sound normal "dumping" issues. Worst I've felt is a little gut sensitive for a day after...... I'd see the PCP!

I dumped one time and the effects lasted a good 24 hours+. Not fun... But if that was so many days ago you might want to call in...

If I dump - it takes a 24 hr before I stop running, But by then I do eat so little, and take fiber and other stuff to stop the irritation. After I dump - my body is supper sensitive to mini-dumps for a few days.  (too much fat, too much sugar, too much liquid, etc)

Just take it easy for a day or so.

Thanks everyone!

You're probably right -- I'm not thinking virus or illness because I only feel sick when I'm running to the b.r.

One of my co-workers says that I'm acting lactose intolerant.  I would have thought that it would have shown up sooner.... but I'll try going without dairy and see if that helps.

If it keeps up, I will call my PCP.  I don't want to use Imodium because I'm usually so constipated.

Thanks again,
Laura
