OK, it's official I'm addicted to Wendy's chili.  But is there a problem if eating to much of it?

I am craving it right now and could stock up on it, put some in the freezer and just eat that for the rest of the year.  They must have liquid crack in it or something LOL

Wendy's chili is one of my FAVS!!   Just reading your post makes me want to make the 2 hour drive to the closest Wendy's and grab some!  YUM!

I think it kept me sane right after surgery.   Everyone around me was eating "normal" food (food WE considered normal before surgery) and I wanted to eat something "normal", too.  Then I found out that Wendy's chili was alright with my doctor.  OMG!! It satisfied all of my desire to eat fast food/fatty food.. but it was allowed!    I no longer have those cravings like I did, but I still love myself a cup of Wendy's chili!!

I was just trying to talk my husband into going to wendy's...lol  Crazy thing is I have homemade chili in the fridge for dinner tonight, but still wanted the ones from wendy's for lunch.  I just started to eat mushy food yesterday and been craving it since.

Early on it was a staple for me! I had everyday for lunch because I had so much trouble tolerating foods, and it was always a go.  I still have it quite a bit. Love it!

I recently tried it after my NUT said it was okay occasionally.  I was having trouble eating while out at work and I needed some alternative to taking lunch.  She said the small Wendys chili was okay as long as i didn't eat too often.  The beans are complex carbs and she said it usually triggers a desire for more complex carbs when you eat too much of them.  Basically the more complex you eat, the more you want.  But it is a great fast food alternative!  Have you ever tried Hormels Turkey no-bean chili?  It isn't bad either and doesn't have as many carbs.

I thought it was the starchy carbs (bread, crackers, etc) that increased the desire for more carbs?  Maybe I have that backwards?  We need some carbs in our diet, though.  I rely on beans for a lot of my protein needs and they've never made me desire more and more beans.

Most beans (not all) are legumes and are starchy carbs.  Things like green beans are the exception.  Peas are among the worst because they also have higher sugar content.  Some carbs are good, but most complex carbs are bad especially if you're in the first 6 months to a year post-op.  We don't want to restart those old carb cravings.

I guess every NUT is different...lol  Mine thinks the beans are the best.  I just saw the Hormel turkey Chili and bought some yesterday.  Havent tried it yet though.

LOVE their chili! And their berry almond chicken salad is amazing, too!

Never got to try the Berry salad.  I loved the apple pecan one, but I am off of salad until I get to that last stage of my diet now.....I think they told me raw veggies is some of the last things they introduce.
