I'm NOW glad I had the surgery, because now most of the health problems I had are now gone!  I'm more better for it!!

Only thing I'm still battling is Lyphedema in my left leg and foot.  Everything else is gone, Thank you Jesus!

No, not all of my health problems have disappeared.  I still have major depression.  I still have problems with my back- it has actually gotten worse than it was before surgery.  The arthritis in my knees is much better, I almost never get migraines anymore, my blood pressure low.  However, I now have reactive hypoglycemia, which I did not have before.  So some of my problems have disappeared, some are still there and some are actually new or worse.

Nope, very  few problems have gone away, but most of mine are caused by this damn PCOS... and its making my weightloss slow, if not impossible.

I also have this pain in my tailbone post surgery that i cant seem to figure out where I got it from.  I cant sit for long periods of time because it hurts.

Mostly.  I'm off my CPAC and all but one BP med which I expect will be gone at my next PCP visit in Sept.  Most of my authritus is way better but I still have a bum knee which will probably  be replaced in the fall. My cholesteral is still boarderline high but I'm not on any meds for it.  I have tons more energy and feel terrific.  If I have the knee replaced, recovery will be so much easier without the extra weight.

I was discharged from my hospital stay after RNY off my diabetes meds (Metformin). I had a running order for a glucose panel test every 2 months and decided to get tested last wed. Just opened today's mail and a note from my PCP "The results of your lab tests were normal". I'm 7 weeks out. I guess that qualifies for a NSV!!!

RNY 5/25/11  SW: 308 CW: SOMEWHERE IN THE 240'S (I REFUSE TO WEIGH MYSELF  WHILE I'M HAVING A NIAGARA FALLS SESSION FOR 2 WEEKS!)  GW: 145

I was on 4 different blood pressure medications. I now take only 1.  I was taking 100 units of Lantus daily and Metform/Glyburide combo 1,000 mg/4 times a day, and also adding Humalog (on a correction scale) daily. Allergy meds out the ying-yang (usually just 1 in the a.m), bad right knee (no longer an issue)..and Paxil (every so often).

So these are all NSV's! And I no longer snore so loudly my kids and their friends can hear me in the next room.  LOL!

I am off the BP meds almost since the day I left the hospital. I don't take much else besides my GERD meds and I WILL always take them for my Barrett's. I take all my vits now and that is getting easier. Although I would like just one pill a day, is that POSSIBLE????

My main motivator for having WLS was to save my body from ravaging insulin depepndent DIABETES! I also realized the length, quality, and sanity of my life was going to ----. I am 9 1/2 weeks out, 45lbs. lighter, my A1C is 6.4 down from 11.2. I no longer take 60 units of humalog. The Lantus long acting insulin has gone from 140 units to 40. I am no longer on one of my BP meds, and have been able to cut back on a med for Fibromyagia. I feel pretty wonderfull. Do I still hurt? Yes. Do I still check my blood sugars 4 or more times a day? YES (and will for the rest opf my life) Has the WLS been worth it? ---- YES!
Am I still challenged with pain, stiffness, sad and stressfull life challenges? Yes. But I am going through it all much healthier. Kahwren
