I am scheduled for surgery on Friday. I am super excited, but I feel like I am coming down with a cold. Will they still do surgery if I have a cold???

I would say as long as you don't have a fever you'll be fine! Not sure but, I'm in the medical field and that would be my best educated guess! Best of luck to you!

Keep your surgeon informed. Safety is a big concern for surgeons, and let them make the decision.

It is the anesthesiologist that will be concerned. If your lungs are battling a cold at the same time they want to keep you breathing and stable.

See how bad your cold is....perhaps it is a one day wonder and will leave quickly.

I had a cold on the day of my RNY and on the day of my brachioplasty. I did not have a fever, but honestly did not mention it. Maybe not the best decision, but I could not reschedule so I felt stuck.
