For those who are in the midst of it, my prayers are for you and your families at this time!  Keep God close to your hearts and be prayerful that the storm will pass without any deaths, injuries or damage!

~Amen

I'm also wondering how you guys are holding up during all of this?  I know things like a hurricane or tornado would make a person nervous enough to start eating uncontrollably....is that you guys?

Thank you for your prayers!!

I am in the path of the hurricane - they are expecting it to hit us in about 3 hours - we still have power (YAY) and internet, so I am posting and reading while I can. We already have flooding and tons of rain, but no terrible winds yet!

As for eating, my nerves are on high alert, and honestly, nauseous... I do have a supply of protein shakes and bars to get me thru a couple of days without power, and have stuff for my 3 kids, mostly carb related stuff, but they will eat it. They were already told we will have to eat all of the sf ice pops if we lose power... lol... they liked that idea!!

I will be on as long as I have internet and power!! After that - it might be a week or so before we are restored.... it is going to be tough for these kids to live without power!! Lol....

For me hurricane anxiety , boredom and PMS caused me to eat a lot yesterday! Hopefully, today will be better.

hurricane just beginning approach to my area.  Hasn't been an issue with food, too busy taking in everything from yard and cleaning cellar because we weill surely ge****er down there.  Work at our local electric company, so report to work at 3pm today to 7 am. tomorrow and will work 1 hour overnight shifts until all power restored.  THAT is what worries me, being up all night and what I may eat. Already went shoppig and packed my own food so that I am not eating crap take-out food or whatever unhealthy food they feed us.  Also have a case of water in my car. Could be gone for up to two weeks depending on severity of outages.

I used to live in Florida and North Carolina, so I've been through a couple of hurricanes.  As far as the power being out:

The difference between a power outage and a campout is simply a state of mind.  (Or at least that's what I used to tell myself).  We would treat it like camping.  We'd set up a tent in our safe spot and once the worst was over, we were able to sort of BBQ on our porch.  We sang camp songs and told ghost stories.  We made shadow puppets with the flashlights.

My heart is with you guys.  Good luck!
