PAT done Pre-op diet starts tomorrow!
Hey guys, just wanted to check in and give an update after yesterday's venting session.
I had my pre-admission testing done today at the hospital and got pre-registered. I was so nervous because they asked me for my insurance card and I was sure it was going to pop up as inactive like my daughter's insurance did yesterday at her primary doc's.
Well, either someone is seriously smiling down on me right now, or they pushed my medicaid recertification through today because it came up as approved! HUGE relief... HUGE weight off my shoulders!! I seriously fought back tears of relief!
My 10-day pre-op diet starts tomorrow. I know it's going to be rough b/c it's only 800-1000 calories per day when I've been used to 1200-1500 (and lately more than that). But I have to remind myself that it's only 10 days and my surgery that I've worked so hard for up to this point is at stake! Wish me luck! I can't believe I'll be on the loser's bench in only a week and 1/2! Wow...

Celia..so glad that things are coming together for you! I WOULD wish you luck on your pre-op diet, but I don't think you need LUCK...your sheer determination will see you through. I have seen how hard you've been working and have seen your motivation and let me tell you...it is inspiring! I hope the next 10 days fly by for you!

Hi, I'm on pre-op day 6 and have 8 days to go. (holy cow!!!) Day one was a little hard cuz i got a magraine so that just made everything difficult. People kept say day 3 would be the hardest but went smooth for me. Last night was really hard one for me not sure why I just wanted to eat everything. But I held strong had a popsicle and made it threw the night.

I just had a "hospital education" appointment. I'm not sure if its standard proceedure ..but it's a meeting that "caps" all the information that one learns over the 6 month diet consultations. I go on the "optifast" diet on the 22nd ....whhheeee...lol
Anyway, good luck. Please please do everything the doctors tells you to do :)

Starting my pre-op diet tomorrow too only it's 14 days+1 is what my doctor requires. I need to double-check that because that would have me 17 days on a pre-op diet. I think she counted wrong
. Hmmm, trying to decide if I should just start since I already have liquid on the brain and Tuesday the 3rd day is going to be wicked.
Anyway, good luck! I'm going to walk around with a bottle of water in my left-hand, tylenol in the other and a stay away sign attached to my forhead. Oh did I forget to mention that my daughter is getting married on Saturday? Momzilla, what was I thinking?
