Is this normal? (very long)

Hi everyone,  I had my Roux En Y in June of 2007!  I wouldn't change a thing about it but as of right now I do have some concerns.  My surgeon is no longer practicing, and I feel like I am alone and have no where else to turn.  After surgery I moved across the country and did NOT have follow up care.  (We are a military family and when we transferred I was told by my new PCM that I couldn't have a referrral unless it was absolutley needed like a life or death situation is what I was told) Anyways, I got pregnant with my daughter and was monitered quite closely and had a n uneventful pregnancy.  I got pregnant again in 2010 and I am currently five weeks postpartum and I am having so many issues. I don't evIen know where to start or know if this has anything to do with my WLS.  I cannot hold anything down.  Its been almost two weeks (thursday it will be two weeks) since I have eaten or drank anything substantial.  Food and liquids go right through me either i'm vomiting them back up or I have cases of diarreah.  Pepto, Immodium are not working for me.  My dr today told me that I have no b12 or potassium in my body and I just got  the b12 shot and I'm terrified to start the potassuim.  I've had potassium issues before and it made me very sick where I lost my appetite and had cases of diarreah.  So taking the potassuim on top of the not eating or drinking has me concerned. What should I do?  What would you do?  I do have a gi specialist.  I had a endoscopy in my 2nd trimester this past May becuse I couldn't hold food down it turned oout my stomach needed to be stretched.  Where the baby was laying was preventing the food to be digested correctly and after that I had no issues until now.  After I delivered my son I had extremeley high blood pressure and was put on magnesuim and given adalat which I orginally thhough was the problem but its been over a week and it should be out of my system now.  I'm now taking micardis hct for blood pressure and so far its working since that has stabliazed.  I just dont know what to do about the not eating or drinking.  I stopped feeling any hunger or thirst.  I drink less then three ounces a day and that is to get my pills down and that most of the time is a battle to get it to stay.  I ate two teaspoons of chicken broth and half a peice of toast today and within 20 mins of eating that it came right back out.  I've fainted once and was told that since my "vitals are good there is no way i could be dehydrated" but I am still concerned I am.  I dont know why im posting here Im hoping someone will have an idea or two on what to do.  I don't have the energy to cry but im so desprate for some relief!  If you read this all the way through thank you very much.  I look foward to reading your response!  Dawn

If you aren't holding anything down, you need to be seen. Whether its from the RNY or post-partum issues, you need to be seen. Can you go to an urgent care? Otherwise, you may need to go to an ER.

Two weeks without holding down anything substantial?!?! And your vitals can be good with severe dehydration, that is not an end all be all indicator. I really, really, really would encourage you to get to a doctor and keep going until you find a cause and solution. At the very least get fluids and probably Zofran or something similar to try and settle your poor stomach. Something is wrong and it needs to be addressed. Without continuing to ingest food and liquids, its not possible for your poor body to be hydrated, it's just not. Even if you go to the ER and simply begin begging - please be seen. The lab results, the prescriptions you are on and the post-partum or post-op complication potentials make this a situation that needs to be addressed by a qualified medical professional. Good luck!

Please seek more medical help. I would go to the Emergency room. I wish you the best.

If you've really been drinking only three ounces a day, you need to go to the ER right this minute for IV fluids.  You are horribly dehydrated and it's very dangerous.

Have you been taking your vitamins since your surgery?  From what you said here, it sounds like you just now started taking B12?

When you say you didn't have follow up care, do you mean you have not been getting labs done or what?

Can you change to a new PCP that might be more helpful?  If not, you still need to find someone to do your follow up care, whether the PCP wants to give you a referral or not.  If you have to make the appt yourself and pay for it yourself, then do that.
