After Losing Weight, Do You Look Older or Younger? 40 Plus Years Old Folks!

I just turned 40 last week and was at the store buying some wine for a party I was having. I was carded. I could of kissed the lady at the grocery store. Most of my coworkers thought I was in my early 30's and were surprised I was turning 40. I think sometimes I look older then I am but I am most likely being overly critical. We are our worst critic aren't we. I agree I would rather look my age and be thin instead of being as fat as I was.

I am 49 (turned 45 the day after my RNY) and have always had people tell me I did not look my age, even before I lost weight.  I think the overall effect of losing the weight is that I look younger (some poeple say I also look taller, LOL), but the wrinkles under my eyes where the skin used to be filled with fat and now is not defintely make my eyes look older!

I also had some sagging around my mouth and I did opt to have one round of Juvederm injections about 18 months ago to help fill out those lines (because the drooping around my mouth and the extra skin along my jawline and on my neck made me look very tired and sometimes angry... and I had a 30th High School reunion last year).  Fortunately, now that the Juvederm has been absorbed (it only lasts 9-12 months), my face has readjusted a bit and some of the skin has tightened up a little, so I don't look quite as tired (because I couldn't afford to keep doing the Juvederm injections).
