Nausea

 Hello. I am 1 week post op today and I am still so nauseated, I don't feel like eating, having terrible gas pains and  really tired. I have been doing my walking, but other than that I just lay around because sitting makes it worse. Is this normal? Any rememdies for the nausea. Thanks

I found even for pre-surgery nausea mint tea got rid of it quickly.  I drank alot of mint tea the first few weeks, especially in the morning...for some reason the nausea was really bad then.  It will get better.

Make sure you get your liquids in - very important.  As far as the protein, I just got what I could at first, the heck with the number my nut gave me.

Try some Gas-X for the pains - they come in the strips you just put on your tongue.  I used those a bit too.

I think I took stock in Gas X for a good three weeks after surgery.

My surgeon gave me a prescription for Ondansetron Orally Disintegrating 4mg they dissoveable tablets every six hours as need. I had surgery last monday and since I take  these I have no problem. I hope you feel better.
