First time sick since surgery

I'm pretty sure I have a head cold. Not eating too many solids just lots of soup, water and protein shakes. Yet the scale is up three whole pounds. Does being sick cause your body to retain fluid? Also, if i become sicker, is there any antibiotics we cannot take? Thanks everyone! ---Nicole

Don't know the answer to that but if you can tolerate hot 'n sour soup, (depending on how spicy it is) I find that it does wonders for a head cold.  Sorry you're not feeling well.  Head colds are miserable, aren't they?
