I got it in my head I'm gaining weight back!

I know it's only in my head but I keep asking hubbie "Do it look like I'm gaining weight back?" and he rolls his eyes and says "No baby! You are still losing!"

I've been doing pretty good so far, could stand to exercise a bit more but I keep looking at myself in the mirror and only notice I'm a bit smaller but not to much.  Yeah Yeah I know I didn't put the weight on overnight and it's not going to come off overnight either....but being two months out I feel I only lost 10 more lbs added to my 54 lbs that was lost already!  Am I doing it right?  64 lbs is good for being two months out?  I'm thinking about going back on Cream of Wheat and Oatmeal for one day a week and drinking water all day.

I just feel I should be doing more.

I struggling to find the words to reply to your post.  You've lost 64lbs in 2 months.  You have no reason to be concerned with re-gain at this point unless you are completely disregarding your meal plan.  Doing a day each week without any protein is foolish.  If anything, I would give up the oatmeal & cream of wheat.  Stick to your meal plan & move for 30 min. a day.

If you aren't seeing a counselor, meeting with a nut., or going to a real life support group -- please find one.  Most of us have problems with our head catching up with the image in the mirror and you need the support.

There is no protein in Cream of wheat, depends on the oatmeal how much protein is in that.   You need to make sure you are getting your 80g of protein and all of your fluids.  It is very early and you will have stalls and slow losses but you will continue to lose.  They operate on our body not our heads.  Breathe deep and know you are not alone in this journey.

You may be only one person in the world, but to someone you are the world

Thanks Ladies for the input! yes I'm following my meal plan and even started eating soy products. If I'm not sure about a certain food I do call my surgeon's office and ask about it before even trying it. The hospital where I had my surgery has support groups every Monday's except for the fourth Monday of the month. So maybe I need to go there and talk about what I feel. When I did Cream of Wheat before I sprinkled some protein powder on it before eating. I drink water every day as well as Crystal light.

1 Cup of Cream of Wheat only has 4 grams of protein, but 1 Cup of Cream of Wheat made with milk has 10 grams of protein, hence why some meal plans suggest it during the puree stage.

I was a 'light weight,' but it took me about 6 or 7 months to lose what you have lost in 2 months. You are doing GREAT with your weight loss.

You may be having more of an issue seeing the loss because while we are so self critical, we also don't really see how big we are until we start losing and we really focus on that. If you haven't done it already, you should see about having your husband take photos of you in front of a door, front, back and profile... and take them once a month. It will help you to 'see' the progress. Also, be sure to take your measurements monthly. They will show you progress when you are having trouble 'seeing' it in the mirror or on the scales.

Keep up the good work,

Do you mean that you lost 54 pounds before surgery and 10 pounds since surgery?

It is really hard the first few months and maybe years after surgery, to believe that it will work for you or that you will make it work. I'm 7 months out, 95 pounds lost and I still fear that I will step on the scale and see the number I was pre-surgery. Totally illogical, but still a real fear.

Definitely, if you have access to a support group, use it!!!!

I lost 17 lbs before my surgery and the last time I was weighed I lost 37 lbs....I'm just assuming I lost 10 more lbs by the way my clothes fit on me...they are really hanging off.

But when i look in the mirror I still see stomach and the same shape I was before surgery!
