I am about 3.5 months out. Tonight, while eating dinner (a handful of pretzels with peanut butter) I started getting a painful burning in my pouch. It caused a lot of pain and I got nausea. I took some papaya enzyme and then became very gassy. It went from painful to dicomfort over the course of 20 mins. Has this happened to anyone? Cause for concern?

Are you taking a PPI?  Protonix, Nexium, prilosec?  Is this the first time or does it happen often?  If it is the first time, you need to see if it continues but if it a continous thing, you should be checked for an ulcer.  Being you are only 3 1/2 months out, you should still be on a PPI to prevent reflux and ulcers and if you aren't on one, then that could be the cause.  Have you taken any aspirin or NSAIDS?  Any pepto bismol?  Steroids?  All these things can cause ulcers.  What about smoking or alcohol?

Try to avoid citrus foods, spicy foods, tomato products, milk products, mints which all make the burning worse or stimulate acid.

If you continue with the burning, go to a Gastro doctor for an Endoscopy

I agree sounds like the start of an ulcer.
