ok, i got my first set of labs done, as i am not sure what all is the most important...
kelly do you have a range or number that each of the vitamins SHOULD  be at....of course my PCM said i was fine, as everything is in the normal range and not to worry about them...but i see my surgeons office at the end of this month for their interpetation..but i have report in my hands and want to understand it..
i know my Vit d is low, but in the low side of normal ha ha... its 37
vitamin b 12 is 352
folate is 4.5
ferritin is 31
iron is 73
iron saturation is 24
icteric index is 1
lipemia index is 8
TBIC is 306
UIBC is 233
what the heck are those?
protein is 7.1
albumin is 3.7
ALK PHOS is138 flagged as high, not sure what this is either
CA is10.0
parathormone is 31
not sure what these are either

anyhow there is more, i have 4 pages of results, they took 6 vials of blood..but this is what i kinda understood but nto really...cholesterol 188 and A1c was 5.8 that i know is good. HDL is 48, triglyceride is 95, and LDL is 121

this is my first set of labs i am 6 months post op, i have had bloodwork done every 3-6 months before, but not all the vitamins like iron and such was done so i will be looking at the levels i had done before and now....any how thanks for the help and suggestions..
december weight 295m surgery weight 276, now i am hanging in at 197 for the last month to month and half, but i have been steady loosing weight since december..so this is my first major stall, i had a IUD inserted on Sept 16th, so not sure if that has anything to do with it...I have only lost 3 pounds since getting back home on Sept 6th, i was gone for 3 months up working at my parents restuaruant, walking and walking and walking while working...in fact i had a pedometer, i walked 354 miles in 3 months..i have been having trouble with my left knee since July 5th, it went out, so i have been resting it since i got home, but still trying to do a mile on the treadmill every other day if possible...some days its hard to walk...
again thanks for the help on the vitamin and lab matters..

Your B12 and D are both very low.

I know your lab report says something like 211-911 for B12 and you really want your B12 to be about 900-1000, but it's OK up to at least 2000. Below 550, people get symptoms like depression and fatigue. Below 400, people get permanent nerve damage in their hands and feet. I have no clue why they list it normal below that.

And I know your lab report says something like
30-80 for vitamin D but you really want your D about 80-100.  Lower than that, we are at increased risk for things like osteoporosis, heart disease and some cancers.  It can safely be higher than 100.

They will have dry D3 at Walmart but not in very big doses.  What  many of us have done  when our level was low like yours is to order the 50,000 IU D3 from vitalady and take one a day for a month or two, then get tested again.  I know that seems like a really huge dose and docs usually freak out if we tell them we are taking that much.  But it is what many of us have had to do in order to get our levels up.  If you're not comfortable with that big a dose, get the biggest you are comfortable with.

It will say D3 on the package but probably won't say dry.  If it is a dry tablet or a capsule with dry powdery stuff in it, it's dry D3.  If it is one of those little things shaped like footballs with oily stuff inside, it's not dry.

I wish my B12 gave me energy like that.  You are probably gonna need more than one of those a day.  500 mcg is what the ASMBS recommends if you have a good B12 level.  Since yours is really low, you'll probably need more to bring it up.  But you could start with one a day and see if you kind of get used to it in a few days and then increase it if you don't wanna swing from the rafters.  Or you could come over to my house, take three of those babies, and then do some cleaning for me!  Either way.

Your other stuff is OK.  The alkaline phosphatase has something to do with the liver.  I can't remember exactly what but I was told by my surgeon and my PCP that it's pretty common for it to be high for a while after WLS.  If you want to know more about that, though, call your doc up and ask.  You can always ask them questions about your labs.

To add what Kelly and Dave said:
When you B12 is depleted - and you take B12 - you feel a jolt of energy.  That is your body telling you you did not have enough. The goal is to take enough B12 daily - so you do not know you took it.  When that happened you will know you had just about absolute minimum your body need.
I give myself a shot B12 every week. Yes - weekly - some people have problem storing the B12 .  And if I feel I get "extra energy " from it - I knew I allowed my levels to get too low and then make sure I take an extra dosage.
So maybe you do need 1500 a day for your levels to get high enough.
I used to take 5000mcg per day and that still was not enough.  Now - the injections keep me happy.

Ditto on the 50K IU dry D3 from Vitalady.  Most stores that carry "high potentcy dry d3" are only 5K IU.  It's difficult to find anything higher in local stores. Vitalady is a good source for this item. I'd suggest you start by taking 4 per week, one every other day.  Have labs done 4-6 weeks later to check levels. I had low D levels, an 8 on my first labs.  Script D is a waste of time, as I took these for 24 weeks, one a week, and my labs went up to a 14.  5 weeks on a liquid vitamin with 600 iu of dry d3 per daily dose, and my levels were up to 33.  I was taking 4 of the 50K IU dry D3 for over 2 years. Last labs were a 65 for my D. Target levels are 80-90. So for the last year, I've taken one 50K daily.  in regards to B12, ditto on the 900-1000. My bariatric insurance doctor explained to me why levels should be near 1000. With any health challenges, your B12 "stores" in your body are depleted rapidly.  With higher levels, your body has a chance to recover without going dangerously low.  352 is really low.  I had a 650 for my B12 and my doctor said it should be at least 400 points higher.  I take 2500mcg 3-4 times a week in a quickly dissolving sublingual B12. that b12 is dangerously low - you need to get it up and fast. anything below 500 puts us at risk for nerve damage - do you have any tingling or numbness in your extremeties?  I would recommend trying to get your doctor to give you an injection ASAP - if you could continue giving yourself the injections, that would be great but if not, then you could continue with the sublingual but atleast 1500 daily, preferrably 2000mcg daily.  If you can't get the injection, then take 5000mcg daily for 1 week and then go back to 2000mcg daily and get rechecked in 2 months.  You want to be a minimum of 1200-1800.  Last winter I was hospitalized after complications for 2 months  so Ididn't get my usual B12 shots - 3 times per week.  In those 2 months, my level plummeted from 1800 to 400.  My surgeon freaked and had me inject daily for 1 week and then go back to 3 times per week and now I am back to 1400.  I haven't been able to get back to 1800 since.

icteric index is 1
lipemia index is 8

I have no idea what these are - have  never seen these before.

Your total protein is good but your albumin is low - you might want to increase your protein

I am a bit confused with your PTH - parathyroid - being your calcium is high, your vitamin D is low, your PTH should be high but it is very good which actually makes no sense.

I would talk to your PCP about the Alk Phosphate - this can have something to do with your bones or other things.
