I went on Progresso soups website and read all the nutritional values of the soups listed. I found five soups that we can eat without worrying about the carbs nor the sugar content.  Yes, the sodium is a bit much but you can pu****er in the soup and don't add additional salt for taste.  Plus if you are like me you can only eat about a cup of it anyway.

3 Bean Chili w/beef; 23g of carbs and 4g of sugar
Homestyle Minestrone; 24g of carbs and 3g of sugar
Chicken pot pie style; 19g of carbs and 2g of sugar
Zesty Santa Fe Style Chicken; 12g of carbs and 1g of sugar
Potato Broccoli and Cheese Chowder; 20g of carbs and 2g of sugar

This is the weather for good soup, and I know a lot of people may make their own but for those who don't these should be tolerable to eat.

These were my "Go-To" soups for pureed foods post-op.  Yummy!

I was defenitly planning on pureeing  soups. I had my jaw wired shut when I was about 15 years old  [Jaw surgery]. I remember my Mom pureeing Dinty Moore Beef Stew for me to inject with a large syringe between a small space between 2  teeth. Its not bad. This time around it wont be Dinty Moore [yikes] but, probably one of the above listed soups aaand NO SYRINGE :]

my only thing with these soups is how much protein are you getting in if you are recent post op.  I had such a hard time getting in protien that anything I put in my little tiny stomach had to be high content of protien

When you've pureed the soup and heated it in the microwave, let it cool a little and then stir in a tablespoon or two of Unjury Unflavored protein powder (or any of the unflavored that are convenient for you). It'll add 8 or 10 grams of protein.

Lynn's advise on adding protein is spot on.  Soups are alway my go-to quick meal and Progresso has several to choose from.  I just try to keep the carb number as low as possible.  Tom Thumb had them on sale for $.99 this week and Kroger's is running them for 4/$5.00.  For a couple of meals from each can, you can't beat the price.  Also, when my pouch is feeling kinda grumpy, the warm soup seems to settle it.

"Suck it up...you're a Marine Mom"   Lets do this!!
