You will be missed! R.I.P.
LOS ANGELES (AP) — It was as if Heavy D knew that it would be his last tweet.
The self-proclaimed "overweight lover" of hip hop, who became one of rap's top hit makers with his charming combination of humor and positivity, enthusiastically told his Twitter followers Tuesday morning to "BE INSPIRED!"
He later collapsed outside his Beverly Hills home following a shopping trip, unable to breathe, before he was transported to a nearby hospital where he died. He was 44. Detectives found no signs of foul play and believe his death was medically related, said police Lt. Mark Rosen.
I was so pissed yesterday because none of the radio stations were playing his songs last night. I had to listen to DAYS of MJ marathons and while Heavy D wasn't exactly in the same bracket, I think he deserved a mix or SOMETHING.
I loved him. Remember when he did a guest appearance on "A Different World"? Sigh...
It always happens in three's:
Andy Rooney
Joe Frazier
Heavy D

I think they are saying that he died from walking pneumonia...
Here in Phoenix they played his songs quite a bit last night - it was a nice tribute. My friend at work was telling her young son about Heavy D as they were driving and heard his songs on the radio. She was excited to hear them...it was not until she got home and read he had passed online and realized why they were playing. She had thought it was old school remix night or something.
