Just curious...I'm over 5 years out and it has completely resolved that issue.  For others, it still remains...  So if you could share...How are you doing post op with that issue??

I'm only 8 weeks out.  It seems to really have helped, resolved? I'm not sure yet.  But you definitely give me hope that it just might really have helped

I am 12 weeks out and for the most part my ibs seems much better but I'm also not eating near what I was pre-op. I did have a bad experience post op after eating sandwich meat. Since it is processed it sent my bowels into spasms the day after eating it. I won't be eating any of that anytime soon, I do however still eat turkey/chicken breast sandwich meat without any problems.

mine was not resolved.

I have bowel spasms all the time!!!   The iron makes it worse.  And I am constipated to a new extreme.

Try Vitron C for Iron. It has the C in it already and for most there's no constipation.
I used it in the past and found it better than the other irons out there.

Well...i am 13 weeks out and i can't say at this point in time if its resolved.  I was one of those that went 5 or 6 or 7 times a day.  I now go once a day...i am not constipated but paranoid i could be at any minute now.  ha!!  I was having some spasms the other day but not sure what brought them on and they were very quick and minor.  I hope this little issue goes away for good.  Right now i feel pretty good and hope this surgery helped.   Good to hear for you its resolved..

I am 10 months out and had previously suffered from IBS since my teenage years ( I just turned 60).  It has been one of the best suprises of this surgery...my IBS is totally resolved.  At first I couldn't believe it was real as my symptoms had impacted my life to such a degree before..I just kept waiting for the cramping and diarrhea to return. Still waiting! I never ever considered that this would be a bonus to the surgery, but am sure happy with it. (along with everything else...all comorbidities resolved completely and 3 lbs under my goal weight at 9 months post op...I love my RNY!)

Mine was good right after surgery for about 7 months, and then showed back up (since I started eating more that just straight protein).  I found the culprit....Gluten!  I went gluten free and have been regular and pain/gas free since!

I'm 10 yrs out and my IBS has never returned. Surgery seemed to clear it up and also my Acid reflux is gone. That disapeared the day of surgery too. Thank goodness for RNY!!
