something strange around noon

So for the last two days, shortly after noon, I get really cold. I mean so cold I almost sit on the space heater. I get a head ache and I need to lay down and take a nap. Not really sure what that is. I am still on liquid (shakes, jello, pudding, yogurt), and I am not eating anything that is not on the list. I feel fine now, and I do have a doctors appointment in the am......just wondering if anyone else has had something similar or can help in any way............thanks you guys!

I haven't had my surgery yet, but I wanted to ask if you think it could be your blood sugar dropping fast? I get cold when mine does.

hmm...
Just because something is on the list doesn't mean your particular pouch will agree with it. Since your diet is kind of limited at this point, is there something you are eating at lunch that you aren't other times? Could also be just exhaustion, I would think

When was your surgery?  Mine was 12/16/11.  I was on a load of bp meds.  Before surgery I was hot all the time.  When I came home from the hospital I was off of all bp meds except 1.  Now I'm cold all the time.  But, your situation does sound a little like the dumping they talk about.  Make sure your yogurt has less than 5 carbs.  I was told to buy the carb smart from Kroger.  I think it has 4g.  Hope you feel better.

Not sure how far post-op you are however I am 2 weeks out & I am constantly 1 big ice cube now.  My nose, feet, hands, joints, everything are freezing unless I am moving about.  I am thinking it's because of the rapid weight loss.....my sister had the same problem.  She used to be ALWAYS hot no matter what time of year it was and now she is COLD no matter what.  I plan on asking my doc about it also however I am quite certain that it's just the changes in my body.  I have sweated my family out by keeping the fireplace on extra long, turning up the thermostat and 3 pairs of socks and flannel jammies.  However, after much complaining from my husband about what the electric bill is going to look like I resorted to a heated mattress pad for my bed (LOVE IT!) and an electric heated throw for the living room.Anyhow, ask your doctor about it just in case....have you been running a fever at all?  If so, that could be a sign to call your doctor right away.

Sounds like a drop in blood sugar.  Try eating some protein as soon as the feeling starts.

Please note: I AM NOT A DOCTOR.  If you want medical advice, talk to your doctor.  Whatever I post, there is probably some surgeon or other health care provider somewhere that disagrees with me.  If you want to know what your surgeon thinks, then ask him or her.    Check out my blog.

I am 2 and a half weeks out and I am only warm first thing in the morning. Mid-day and Evening I seem to freeze. I just purchased a cute, old fashion-type, electrict stove for my bedroom. Burrrrrrr!

I get cold too, I am almost two weeks post op. Also I don't get much joy out of the diet. Would someone mind telling me why its so important not to have sugar drinks or greek yogurt with fruit?

Help

When was your surgery?

I know for the first two weeks or so after my surgery I was cold all the time. I also got really fatigued in the afternoon – to the point where it was almost "painful" to be awake. Once I was able to add more protein into my diet that all got better.

I still tend to get a little chilly now and then – a HUGE change since before surgery I'd sweat in a snowstorm in Siberia – but it is December in the mountains, and for once, I am not running the AC in the car much to my DH's delight. And I do occasionally get really tired in the afternoon. Now it is a signal to me that I have either 1) not had enough protein, 2) not had enough fluids, or 3) not moved enough.

I'd say to honor what your body needs, especially if you are just a few days/weeks out from surgery. Get all the protein you can. Get your fluids in. Walk as much as possible. Sleep when you need to. And, of course, mention it to your doc. You can never be too careful.
