Just So Frustrated What Am I To Do.....Food Issues???
Ketosis is not a bad thing. It means your body is burning fat. There are strips you can buy at the pharmacy to check to see if you are in ketosis. I wasn't in it all that long, maybe a few months, until I was eating more.
Keep water near you all the time. If you don't like plain water use Crystal Light or some other sugar free mix. That should help the nausea, too.

Oh my gosh....I read your post and thought that is me!! My mouth is so gross I have this horrid taste always and the worst breath and my belly just hurts and hurts. I called my doctor and talked to the nurse Friday and she kept saying maybe I was dumping..but I am not I am not eating..I don't want to eat...I feel sick all the time!!!!! I hope things get better for you...all I could do last night was cry and pray for it to go away! I just want to feel better!!!
I read where you eat mashed potatoes and soup, and that's pretty much it. I your doctor does not think it is a stricture, I was pretty much exactly like you. I totally skipped the pureed stage and stayed on full liquids much, much longer. No matter what I tried at that stage, it made me nauseous. The consistency alone made me gag. At that same time I was still trying to find a protein shake that did not make me sick. I became lactose inter ant for a while. I found a few, and a mean a few things I could eat, and that was it. I did not push myself knowing that because nothing was wrong with me physically (stricture, etc.) I was simply going to have to adjust. I ate lots and lots of homemade soup and gmbo. That pretty much means broths more than anything. We cooked everything to mush pretty much. I was after the flavor. I knew it would get better. We made homemade soup. We cut the meat into tiny, tiny pea sized pieces as well as the vegetables. We then cooked it until the meat pretty much disappeared and the vegetables were nothing but mush. I lived on that for a very long time....a couple months. We did gumbo the same way drinking the thick broth. We made big pots of pinto beans, and I pretty much drank the juice until I could handle a few beans. I could not eat eggs, cottage cheese, yogurt (barely). It seems I lived on only a few food items. After a while I went to soft foods. I honestly gets easier over time. Make sure you get your protein shakes in and your fluids. My doctor knew I was having difficulty with the protein shakes, but he was very patient and said it would get easier, even when at 1 month I was struggling. Hang in there.
