The thing I miss the most!
I right there with you.....it is really hard.... I dont even put a glass on the table for me.... i the funny thing is i find that my hand still reaches as though i'm picking up a glass... (a glass that's not there)... it's funny... my husband and kids get a kick out of it......
Oh and something else I noticed... be careful sipping fluids when riding in a car.... the bumps on the road can give you more than your pouch can handle....

In worst case I get some warm water and rinse my mouth. If that does not help - I chew gum after. Chewing gum help with saliva, and that allows me to wait until 30-45 min after food to start drinking.

I have found that the better I eat the less I want to drink. Meaning that if I have healthy choices without too much salt and with good veggies and fruits it makes it easier...not easy...but it helps a little. It's a hard adjustment for me, too, even 8 months out. But, I'm hoping eventually it will be second nature.
Keep on keeping on!
Even my kids nowadays don't drink with their meals. Nobody ever told them not to...they just don't.

It IS hard, and one day about 3 years post op I decided to be naughty and take a big drink right after I ate anyway.
I promptly threw up my lunch.
Apparently your body even gets used to seperating the eating from the drinking. I know I haven't tried it again since, and haven't even had the urge.
It does get easier, and you've gotten some great ideas. Hang in=)
