One Week Post-Op and.....
I feel better everyday!! Today has been the best! No pain meds, last day on liquids, and feeling strong! I went out today to the mall and got my nails done just to reward myself for getting through a very challenging week! I know this journey will have ups and downs (just as my previous WLS journey) but I am ready!
I have my follow-up appointment tomorrow so another outing hehehe. One mild issue I have had is an allergy to the tegaderm film they covered my wounds with. This has been a huge ongoing issue for me. I have had 5 surgeries on my poor tummy and have developed an allergy to all adhesives. Tegaderm was my last resort and they only kept in on for about 15 hours. Well you guessed it-ra****chy damn it. So I started on one course of steroids today for a week and can take benadryl. Other than that I'm so happy.
Thank you everyone for your support. And not letting me freak out about trying to be perfect and just do what I can. Best advise ever! Once I relaxed I felt better!!
Today the doc said the surgery was easy , only 1-1/2 hours but there was a lot of scar tussue from the band and I had way more tubing than needed. My BMI was only 37 but he said he bypassed 150 cm ? not exactcly sure what that means.
Good luck tomorrow I will be anxious to hear how much you lost , although it really doesn't matter as long as we follow the "plan" we will both get to where we are supposed to be.
