What's it like. . . .
I know the first few weeks after Bypass is liquids and you gradually work back up to solids, but for those of you that are past that stage, what do you "normally" eat during the day?
I'm stuck on the 3-4 oz protein and 1/4 veggies per meal that was drilled into me when I got my Band. I would imagine that is too much food for Bypass peeps?
Also, do you have a favorite vitamin, shake or supplement that you would recommend?
Thanks!

Lunch might be a big salad, or left overs from dinner the night before.
A snack might be Greek yogurt or a protein shake or some fruit or some cheese.
Dinner might be vegetarian chili, or some sort of beans, or a veggie burger, or some sort of sandwich, or a burrito bowl at Chipotle (yum).
Evening snacks (I usually have two, I stay up late) might be Greek yogurt, roasted chickpeas, cheese, a protein shake, left overs from dinner or a protein bar.
I eat about a cup of food at a time.
I recommend getting samples of a bunch of shakes at vitalady.com. That way you can see what you like. My favorite, though, is Syntrax Nectar cappuccino.
I liked ENS from Celebrate for my multi before I started taking multis that I swallow. I also like Calcet creamy bites for calcium citrate.

I had no idea you could get samples. . . .I will definitely check out the vitalady website. I hope they have improved from the last time I tried protein drinks lol.
So, about a cup of food is a normal amount for you. . .that helps. . . I'm trying to wrap my head around the amounts; I knew they would be different than the Banding amounts.
Thanks again!

It's amazing that that little bit of food keeps you satisfied! I can't wait till I have my surgery! Thank you very much for sharing, that definitely helps.

1/2 cup cottage cheese
snack 1 cup milk

1/2 cup cottage cheese with a little pineapple
snack 1 cup milk
dinner 2-3 oz. high protein meat loaf or just plain hamburger
1/2 cup cottage cheese with a little pineapple
snack 1 cup milk or 100 cal. pack of almonds
I eat the same thing every single day until I get tired of it and then I move on to the next meal.
I don't take any protein drinks any more. My favorite vitamin is the calcium chew caramel from Bariatric advantage. It is just like candy.
Thank you for the info! I'm guessing you are farther out since you're averaging a cup of food per meal; that helps put things in perspective. I have to get out of the "band" thinking in regards to food.
Some of my paperwork says to stay away from ground beef; that must be for early on. It's funny you mention you eat the same thing every day until you get tired of it. . . .my mom is the exact same way lol. I am much pickier, I think I just get bored easily, though I like everything on your menu, so eating like that wouldn't be a hardship.
I will check out the calcium caramel chew. . .I'm afraid to buy just random stuff. I don't want to waste my money and get something really nasty!
Thanks again for the info!
