sleeve to bypass?
Hi. I had a VSG in April 2010. Lost abt 25 lbs then slowly regained it. I had a RNY 9 days ago. So far so good. I am very optimistic this will work. I live near Houston and very few surgeons do the DS in this area. From my research, i felt the DS was too high risk and i instead opted for the RNY I'd be happy to answer any questions you have.
thank you for responding. i have vsg in aug 2010. i have lost about 125 pounds...lack of weight loss is not why i have to get a revision, i have been having issues with my sleeve since the moment i woke up from surgery. i have delayed emptying that causes me to be sick a lot. he gave me 3 options, gastroplasty, revise to bypass or leave it alone. the entire GI team said that dilation wasnt an option because of where the narrowing occurs in my stomach. a lil sad because i really did a lot of research on the vsg and felt it was the best fit and im really terrified of having bypass. ill send you an inbox message with my questions. thanks!
Not me, but a friend of mine. She was sleeved in March 2015 and had trouble from the very beginning. After multiple procedures it turned out her stomach was flipping everytime she ate. She had revision to RNY the day before my procedure. She is now at her goal weight, losing 131lbs total. She is doing great.
