I took 400 mg ibuprofen
I take omeprazole daily as it is. Should I take extra if I'm taking NSAIDS?

You must have missed my earlier post regarding my back pain. I've had progressively worsening back pain for more than a year now. It has been more than six months since I've been able to sleep through the night, as the pain wakes me several times every night. The back specialist I was seeing has given me Vicodin, which doesn't help very much, and says he doesn't think I should be in this much pain and can't do anything else for me. But he also kept insisting that NSAIDS would probably help.
So I am feeling very desparate and decided to try some NSAIDS. I think I would prefer an ulcer over this pain.

That's how long the NSAIDS stay in your system.
But of course No NSAIDS is best if we can help it.
I hope you get some relief soon.

you can take up to 800mg of ibprophen and 1 extra strength tylenol all togehter...the ibprophne will help reduce swelling while the tylenol will help take away the pain....now this was all pre op of course...but even when i knee went out while i was 3 months post op, i will admit i took a ibprophen and tylenol together along with my nexium....i did this for like a couple of days to get the swelling down in my knee..it worked great....i did make sure i took the ibprophen that was in a liquid gel cap as my surgeon told me that if in extremem cir****tances for swelling take the ibprophen but not in pill form as it can burn while dissolving...but the liquid is easier on the pouch...
now i ONLY take ibprophen in extreme needed bases...but have not had to but a couple of times since surgery...i also have a large herniadted disck L5,S1....but getting the weight off has helped alot and i had 2 nerve block injections, they were amazing...the injections were a year before my bypass..but the injections made my suger get out of controll that was the main reason for the bypass..we could not get it back under control after the 2 injections...i had a cortizone shot in my left knee back in nov...and the next day my suger was over 200.... but not since...
good luck, i hope you can get some pain relief..

I honestly thought losing some weight would help, but it's actually made it worse.
Hope you find some relief. Did you go get a second opinion? I know you weren't too happy with the doc you were seeing....
My back has gotten much worse since losing weight, too. I don't know why.
