Hey everyone...I had surgery two months ago and I feel like I am doing great.  I am curious how other people who had surgery around the same time I did are doing.  I started at 324 pounds, size 24 jeans and 4 x shirt.  I have lost 60 pounds since the day of surgery..20 of that in the last month.  I am comfortably wearing a size 20 jeans and am starting to get a little extra room in  the butt, stomach and leg area.  I am able to tolerate most foods..had a little trouble with brocolli and asparagas.  I get 60 grams of protein most days and close to 64 oz of water a day. I eat between 550 and 700 calories a day..sometimes a little more or less but never over 800.  I feel like I am losing weight pretty quickly but I guess I don't know for sure.  How are you guys doing???  I know we aren't supossed to compare...but I am just curious how other people at the same stage are doing.

You're doing fantastic!!

I recommend that you don't spend too much time comparing, because everyone starts and ends at a slightly different place.  But since you can tolerate most foods and are getting your protein and water in - that's great (and much better than I did at 2 months out).

Are you doing any walking or exercise?  That will really help you feel great, and you'll be amazed at how your energy level will increase as you lose weight.

Good luck!

I have been walking a mile a couple times a week.  My goal is to do it at least 4 times a week now that I am not as busy with my daughters sports.  When I first started walking, I thought that mile was going to kill me...it gets easier every time.  Now I don't mind it at all.

I will be 5 weeks out tomorrow. Highest weight was 340 in 3/12, and surgery day was 318. I am down to about 280. I can tolerate about everything. I did throw up a whole wheat english muffin, and a little spaghetti a week ago, but other than that, not hungry and just am eating small portions. Protein around 75 grams a day. I walk every other day on a trail. About 2 miles. I feel like 1/2 lb a day is the pace that I have been at the last 3 weeks. I hope it keeps up.

My doctor told me at my six week check up that he wanted me to up protein intake to between 60 and 80.  I have not been able to get anywhere near 80. How do you do it??  He wants me eating breakfast,, lunch and dinner with one or two small snacks.  I never feel hungry either..or full.  If I go too long without eating I sometimes feel like my stomach is empty but it's not hunger.  Not being hungry sure makes things easier!!

I will be 2 month out on the 5th.  Overall I am doing well.  At surgery, I was 264 and a size 24.  I don't weigh everyday, but am 233 now, still a size 24.  So I am down 31 pounds in 2 months which averages about 1/2 a pound a day, can't complain.  I eat between 600 and 900 calories per day (my doc would prefer 1200 per day) and usually get in 50-70g protein and 50-70oz of water.

haha 42 pounds is not wimpy!!!!  It's only 18 pounds less than me and you had your surgery a week or so after me...so you are doing amazing too!!!  :)  I hate the protein shakes...I try to get my protein from food..I do run short some days and should probably get some protein shakes for those days.  What kind of shakes do you use??

I had my RNY on March 27th and am down 50 pounds. Started at 264 and am now 213. Excited? Yes.
I use Fitness Pal to keep track of everything, but mostly  have 75 or more protein daily and try to hit 800 calories a day.  I'm not really hungry either, however, when I do eat,  I find I eat too fast and have chest pain afterward. (I really hate that, but its a good signal.)  Im working on the fast eating part.
Haven't really exercised yet, but want to. I'd love a new treadmill so I could start running , Im just too embarrassed to run outside yet.  :(

I think you are doing awesome!
