Wonderful. It's good to know we can make this quality of life last if we use our tool.

Congratulations!  It sounds like you got everything you wanted from the surgery. (Hey, if you can paint your own toes while also breathing... what woman could ask for more, LOL?!?)

My 5-yr is in August (and I can paint my own toenails, too!).

Here's to the next 5 years!

Hi Lora,

While I wouldn't say that I got 'everything' that I wanted out of the surgery, I got an a great deal and I would definitely do it again. I still struggle with the vestiges of my obesity. I just wish I had not done that damage to myself... the damage I CAN see and the damage I CAN'T see. I don't know that I'll ever be completely okay with that, but I do work to keep it in perspective and appreciate what I have done for myself instead of focusing on what I did to myself.

Congratulations on your own upcoming 5th anniversary (and the ability to paint your own toenails).

Wishing you continued success,

Barbara

I, too, sometimes struggle with knowing that the damage to my knees (the left one needs replaced) is of my own doing.  As you said, there is no point in dwelling on it, but I do understand the regret.
