I'm about 2.5 weeks out from surgery, and the scale hasn't really moved this week.  Bums me out.

Plus, today is my 16th anniversary.  I gave him chocolate dipped strawberries last night and told him happy anniversary this morning.  I know he didn't forget, and I know things have been rough for us the past few months, but FFS, he could have put in a little effort.  I'm deeply hurt.  He could get me flowers, or heck, get me cottage cheese with a bow on it (since that's what I can have right now).  It would be the thought that counts.  No embrace this morning, either.  Which we usually don't, but would have been nice for our special day.  Sigh, just hurt feelings.

I am sorry you feel down... but want to remind you softly that at this stage after surgery your hormones will be all over the place...

A stall is normal at your stage so put the scale away... maybe for two weeks and then step on it again.... don't do something that makes you feel bad.

Also men and women are very different...some men are romantic and gooey and stuff...some aren't if he doesn't "normally" do something then you can't expect him to do things just because you want him to... set the expectation. Perhaps he will bring home something later or acknowledge the day later (its still early). Or send him a text and tell him you would like to find a way to celebrate with him.

It will get better. Promise! Happy Anniversary!! your doing fantastic.

Congratulations on your surgery, and your anniversary.  Both are big milestones in your life, and I can really understand being sensitive and nervous about them both.   Your body is going through a lot of changes and you also said that things have been rough for you and your husband, and that is a tough combination for anyone.

Relax about the weight loss - many folks don't lose much in the first few weeks, or even a month.  Your body has been filled with lV liquids, many medicines, and is still recovering from surgery which can cause fluid retention.  Each person has their own rate of weight loss, but you can be confident that this surgery works.  Just follow the rules that your doc gave you, and you'll be fine.

Take care,
Eliza

I'll pray for you .

As far as the weight loss it will come. I thought I was the biggest failure because my scale didnt move really soon out either.  But i lost inches really fast . I was only able to tell when my work pants fell off about a month out

hugs going out to you and happy anniversary!
