Okay, I'm getting lazy with the workouts here lately so I need y'all to inspire me. What are you doing today to keep moving?

I'm planning on going for a 4 mi walk this evening when the sun goes down, but I should probably do something else before then. Something strength training related.

So, tell me your workout plans for the day!

I am going to the swimming pool. When I was in college I was on the water polo team and was a very strong swimmer. I used to do 100 laps every evening after work. As I got fatter and fatter, I did not swim except on vacations and such because I was so fat that I could not drag my body through the water. When I started losing weight this time, I could only do one trip from the narrow side of the pool. Now after losing weight I can now swim a few laps the long way in the pool. Feels so good to be in the water and feel all my old muscles working together. Maybe I am not so fast but it feels real good and does not hurt my poor knees.

4 miles?  girl, that's a workout! lol but I had to post since I made my first 30 minutes today.  I'll get there!  I have visions of being a runner or atleast fast walker going all over the neighborhood.  After reading the above post, I'm thinking I may hit the pool...and give my knees a break this afternoon.  If we are there right when it opens maybe it won't be too crowded.  I'm like you, I need motivation everyday!  Knowing I have to face my 3 month appt with the dr in 2 months...got me up and moving today.   have a GREAT day!   Sherry

I HAVE a swimming pool and cannot make my sorry self get out and swim. I love to lie on a float in the sun though.

Hearing you say that it is easier now has motivated me to get out there this afternoonand do my first half lap (that's probably all I can do to start with).

I started going to the gym last week, have been spending about an hour there every day.  My surgeon/excersise phys. says at least 30 mins a day so an hour is good in my opinion at 10 weeks out.  I have been doing 20-30 min cardio and the rest strength training on the weight machines.  I feel much better after starting excersising.
