home from the hospital with a few questions

so I am now home from the hospital. I am feeling much better and getting liquids down just fine. this maybe t m I.... but I had my first BM. it was very small and blackish in color. am going to call my doc in a.m. but was curious if this is normal. Also my tummy is very loud and grumbly. thanks everyone

The blackish color is from some residual blood left in your colon from the surgery. Nothing to be alarmed about. If it's a dark red or laced with actual blood, then it's time to call the Dr.

Sounds normal to me. I've had weird BMs since I had surgery last week. LOL. Just wanted to say welcome home!!

I remember a few ddays after surgery my stomach was gurgling so loud it sounded like a waterfall! You sound normal to me, too!

very normal. you are given so much stuff in the hospital - pain killers, and so forth, poops aren't normal again for a very long time
