Has anyone else had complications to where nothing would stay down?  got down to 82 lbs and hospitalized for a iv nourishment line...more than likely a feeding tube?  I read somewhere about a man going through the same as I and it was because too much of his intestines was takein out for the rny?

Is that your issue?  What do your doctors say?

My MIL had the bypass, not gastric bypass, in 1975.  She lost a lot of weight, and all was well until about 8 years ago.  She too got down into the low 80s.  At around age 72  it was determined she would have to have her bypass reversed.  After all those years a team of doctors went in and reversed her bypass.  She did great.  She has the most positive attitude abut everything.  She did gain weight, but to a healthy place.  She did not gain her weight back.  I hope you get lined out quickly.

Have you gone back to your surgeon? I had a lot of pain, nausea, dry heaves whenever I ate. It turned out to be a small bowel obstruction. My PCp thought it was something else. Have you had a swallow study?

I have been back to my surgeon several times and to my Precious PCP...he is so good to me...I  haven't had a swallow study?  what do you have to do or drink? I have had a blockage/stricture/ulcers and I don't think they went that far down to check for an obstruction...
Thank You

He was able to see it when i had  a barium swallow.    He had me swallow barium liquid then he was able to see it go down by x ray.  I had a really narrow area just below my stomach.  It was making me feel stuffed almost right away when I ate or drank with bad upper abdomal pain off and on.  Thay might have already done this test for you to check for strictures/ blockages.

I have been hearing this more lately about long term nourishment issues. I am 5 years out RNY and have had no major problems.  My cousin had RNY 8 years ago and had the same issue about 2 years back.  It happened twice to her until they figured out a drug (ZENPEP) to help her.  Basically a specialist at the hospital prescribed this for her.  Now she has regained to normal but must take this very expensive medicine for life.  This medicine replaces pancreatic enzymes to help the breakdown/digest of fats, starch & proteins in food.

I haven't heard of Zenpep...I just want to get better...I could eat a nice salad...baked potatoe and a nice steak...but when it comes down to really eating it is a totally different story...and when you tell others that they just don't understand?
Thank you so much for sharing this with me
