I know companies are different - but wondering what procedures folks had that insruance covered and what the criteria was for it to be covered.

Thanks!!

My insurance covered nothing but the panniculectomy (and required 6 months of unsuccessful treatment of rashes and that the panni hung below the pubic bone). They refused to cover my arm lift even though I was cutting my armpits shaving because of the crepe-like skin and then the cuts were getting infected (so my armpits were more of a problem than my panni). I also had to pay for the mons lift and tummy tuck myself. Insurance refused the mons lift and I knew that there was no point in even trying to get the tummy tuck covered since I had already had my hernia repaired. The only way I can get a breast lift and reduction covered is if I am willing to go down to a B-cup (since they have to remove 500g of tissue in order to have insurance cover it)... and that is NOT going to happen.

Almost everything is considered cosmetic even if it is causing minor medical issues.

And my insurance covered everything in my siggy - BUT I had documentation from my gyny, the breast specialist in my gyny's office, my orthopedic surgeon, my PT, a couple of nurse practitioners, etc. about medical issues beyond rashes/infections/discomfort that the excess skin was causing me.

Good luck with it!
