gas and bloating....

 1 day post op and having the worst gas pains ever! And my stomach looks pregnant. I've been walking and trying to poop (tmi) but nothing. Just more pain.
Any advise for a newbie?

 Three words to live by for the next few weeks:
Walk
Sip
Relax

Walk, walk, walk and walk some more.  Some people find that GasX helps.

I had surgery on the 28th of August, and it took 4 days for me to have a bowel movement. From what I understand it takes a few days more than you think it's going to.

I'm thinking you probably don't really need to have a bowel movement yet because you probably cleaned out before surgery? It probably just feels like that from the gas and extra water weight.

 yup give it a few days. Its a pain but when you finally have that moment you will feel great.

One day post op? You won't poop for a few days. Try Gas-x and keep walking.

 Just give it time.  It sucks but it will last several days (the gas).  Took me til the 5th day to "go".  Hang in there!

Walk as much as you can, walking helps pass the gas.

Walk and put a warm dry towel on ur belly it really helped me a lot.
