Failed the nuclear stress test
So, Cardio catherization is scheduled at Yale for this Friday 10:30 am which will determine blockages and possibly have an angioplasty which they would do a balloon to open any closing or a stent if necessary. Wish me luck. It should be an in and out procedure unless they need to do more.
Amazing that when I weighed 100 lbs more I was the healthiest far chic borderline everything. Now a healthy weight and having heart issues. Ugh.
I must say I just want it all done and fixed so I'm grateful they are moving fast. I'm eerily calm or maybe it's just shock.

Sorry and shocked to hear this. What kinda cardiac testing did you have pre-op? Why are you being tested now? Have you been having pain or problems? I just can't believe you had no problems less than a year ago and you've lost weight and now have problems????? That doesn't make sense. Hope all goes well and sending Good Health wishes your way.
This happened to me twice and both catherizations showed perfectly clear arteries. On one occasion two other patients were clear also. Just one note: the first time they ran the line through my groin, the last time they used a vein in my wrist. I prefer the arm/wrist so you might want to ask before hand.
Good luck.. don't worry. The cardiologist will give you the result immediately so you won't have to wait. That is a good thing.

Thanks!!! It's weird because I went to the drs for a cold and my pulse was 30. No I wasn't light headed or dizzy ( everyone asked that) lol. They gave me an EKG and it was abnormal so they sent me to the cardiologist and gave me the holter monitor and I gave it back the next day. It showed some runs of pvc's and they set me up three days later for an echo cardio gram. That came back that I had heart muscle weakness and they set me up for the nuclear trees test I failed that one and now have an appt next wk with an electrical physiologist on Monday in case its and electrical issue. But since I failed the nuclear test I'm going in on Friday for this cardio catherization to look for any blockages.
I guess I'm lucky I had a cold. I was supposed to fly to a convention next Friday in Nc. But dr said no flying for me.
I so believe everything happens for a reason good and bad. I am sooooo happy that I have taken 100 lbs of stress off my heart or I could have been in real trouble. We shall see what's next. Just keeping on foot infront of the other at this point.
Oh I have had pvcs ur they were ok no runs or weakness. So something changed. Thanks for the good wishes

They determined that the stress test was wrong (both times) and I was cleared for surgery. I am glad to know, for sure, that my arteries are clean 100% but I also have a heart murmer that I have known for a long time even though I can't feel it. I just have a yearly appointment with a cardiologist.
Hope your test turn out as good. Like you said, it's good to have it taken care of before a serious problem comes up.

First, I hope everything works out for you and you DON'T require any intervention. But, should you need it, I see that you mentioned stents. Are you aware that should you get a stent you may require anticoagulation (blood thinners) which put you at risk for GI bleed?
This is one of the things that people are afraid of with NSAIDs. Make sure you talk to your doctor thoroughly before your cath.
Not everyone realizes that it is perfectly safe to have these medications while under a physicians care.

Anticoagulents, however, do nothing to PROMOTE GI bleeds like NSAIDs do... They just make the bleeding worse if you develop it from some other source. That is a VERY important distinction.
