2 wk follow-up today
I just got back from my two week check-up. Doc says I'm doing good and can move on to soft foods!!! Not sure which beginning weight I should go by, although I'm more inclined to go by the higher number because it gives me a sense of losing more. My weight at my pre-surgical appt in the doctor's office was 255, but the day of surgery at the hospital a week later it was 260 (I know....how can I gain 5 lbs in one week?) I know the doctor's scale and the hospital scale aren't going to be the same, but when I weighed in today at the doctor's, I was at 246. So, if I go by the starting weight of 260, I'm down 14 lbs, but only 9 if I go by the doctor's.
I'm happy with either...it's a good start. I'm feeling better everyday. Walking daily and getting stronger. But as you can see by my health tracker I'm going by the surgical day weigh-in.

Had my first checkup today too. I can't believe the sudden difference in how I have felt the last Days (Knock wood). Don't want to jinx anything. I started introducing creamy strained soups and skim milk, etc. but I think that created the horrific gas pains that I thought were killing me. The next day, Thursday, I was 100% better. I'm guessing milk is not so great right now. Doctor said healing well, I can go onto third week types of food or progress as fast as i can tolerate, just don't go ahead of schedule. I lost 10 more pounds by their scale, by mine14. Total of 19. But my more important numbers for me are my sugar numbers. No insulin or metform and my numbers are normal. Hope and pray it stays this way. Keep up you spirits and stay focused!
