OT - Flu shot?

Just curious...
Who gets the flu shot and do you give them to your children (if you have children)?

I try to get one every year. Missed one year in the 6 years since my RNY. No colds since my surgery, had a runny nose for one day. Prior to surgery I had a few days every month with a runny nose, but seldom a cold or flu. So it may have been an allergy symptom. No ill effects from any flu shot I've had since surgery. DAVE

I get one every year, pre- and post-op.

My children and I hve been getting the flu shot for the last 10 years, my daughter got hers yesterday and my son will get his next week, I wont be able to get mine untill he 9th b/c I was told by my surgeon not to get it w/in 30days of having surgery otherwise we all would have had them by now. I tried to wait for as close to the 30 days for my kids but due to health issues it is important they get them as early as possible.. I also was given the pneumonia vaccine while in the hospital for my RNY.

I always make sure we get the flu shot b/c my son got seriously ill from the flu when he was 4yrs old, and had to be hospitalized, and my daughter suffers from kidney disease so the flu is the last thing she needs. and I have to say we have not been stricken w/ the flu since we started getting the shots.

yes I just got my flu shot the other day, been getting them for the last 10 years or so, have never had the flu, also my children and grandchildren get them also;; my oldest daughter stopped one year from taking the flu shot and got the flu really bad that year, she said that she will never do that again lol
