special k protein cereal
I bought some of this awhile ago. I only eat it like once a week. Well I bought another box, and guess what, i noticed when I got home that they CHANGED the recipe. The new one has more sugar and less fiber then the older one. 5 more sugar grams a serving and more calories. i'm not sure if it's worth it to me anymore.
Good lesson for me to never assume an old standby is going to stay the same.

i was organizing my pantry and making it so all the nutritional labels were facing outwards. my daughter likes to read them, and she noticed the difference!

Special K Protein cereal
serving size 3/4 c. Protein 10 g, 7 gms sugar
Kashi Go Lean
serving size 1 c, Protein 13 g, 6 gm sugar
I've only used Kashi for cold cereal following surgery, because of the higher protein.
I do eat whole oat oatmeal occasionally-- not much protein, but I like it in cold weather.

I noticed that when I was looking at their website and grabbing the stats for someone I was telling about it...
I emailed the company and the response I got was that they did test marketing and people wanted it to taste better and be more palatable. So they added sugar, cinnamon, and switched up a few other things. But yeah, they went from 2 grams to 7 grams per serving. I only use a half ounce per meal, but still... yeah.
I think if they want something to taste sweeter, but something sweeter!
