When were you able to burp post op??

For me it was at about 6 months. I was so happy then that part of my life came back. Others may never be able to burp again. Just thought this would be a good thread for new post ops and those who are looking into RNY...Each person is different...

This is the first time I have heard that there are people who never burp after RNY or that it takes people a while to be able to burp... and I have been here 5+ years.

I don't remember NOT being able to burp AT ANY POINT after my surgery...

After lap band, I burped so much and so loud that I was afraid it was permanent. It was a relief when it ceased to normal. I've always felt like a normal person from day one as far as burping after RNY.

I burped just the other day. I don't remember not being able to. I do remember not dealing with gas after surgery though. I see so many posts about it and didn't have that problem.

I have not been able to burp since surgery. I've wanted to but cannot.

I think it tool me about a month to be able to burp. For the life of me, I just couldn't burp. I kept trying and nothing would come out. Now I have no problems.
