post surgery question

HOW long will the pain from the surgery itself last?  A wk out and I'm still in a lot of pain at the one site and still have somewhat of a bubble from the gas n fluids they pumped in me.

I lost 5 lbs since checking in for my surgery.  

I was in pain for probably 2 weeks after my surgery.  Now at 4 weeks I don't have any pain at all really.  Sleeping on my side can be a little uncomfortable but that's about it.  I thought for a while that I would never be pain free but I am now.  Good Luck!

Thanks. I hate being in pain. I am a big baby when it comes to pain. My pain is at top left hole. I,can lay on my right side good. But not my left. I used to out a pillow as supourt for my right side.
I walk in the house. up n down the stairs, round the block...

I had some pain on and off for about 2 weeks. Walking helps a lot a well.  now I am 4 weeks out and i get some side pain every now and again. For the gas, Gasx is great, also you can do Milk Of Magnesia  to get some of Barium out if they did a GI test.

Thanx. They did the upper gi scope/test. Its either burping or massive farting.

They gave meiquid colace. That stuff sucks. Smells like soap, looks like soap, and tastes like soap. It also burns goibg down and makes you sick.

I had pain for less than a week.

I had post surgery pain for 1-2 weeks post op. My upper left incision still "stings" often, but the doc told me yesterday that was normal and I can expect it to be gone by 3 mos out.

Oh cool. Ty. Im glad doc gave me percoset in liquid form. That helps ease it.
