When did you all start eating lettuce? and NSV
on 10/25/12 4:39 am
Pouchy didn't like lettuce, spinach, cabbage or any other leafy greens for months, even chewed and chopped. In fact, one night I asked my kids to kill me after I tried a cabbage roll and spent several hours afterwards barfing up my lungs (I wanna say this was about 4 months out? Maybe?).
It's OK now though, a year out, as long as I chew a LOT. Your mileage may vary.

I am not a doctor, but I play one at work.
My doctor just cleared me on Monday for salads specifically; they were even on my radar but man that thing sat well in my pouch. (I am 8 wks post op today)
I had a chopped salad Tues & it was nom nom nom. I didn't think a salad could taste so good! ****burg, mushrooms, tomato, cukes, ham & cheese (1 oz of each protein that I ate first).
I would clear it with your doc of course but once you get the go ahead; tread lightly & enjoy!
I started eating salads at about a month or so out and I do just fine with most but I do stay away from iceberg and stick to the darker greens - vitamins! CONGRATS on your loss! Great work! :D
