LOL on all of these. I can relate to the daughter one. Mine has a mouth like you would not believe! And then has the nerve to get mad if she gets grounded.

I feel your pain on the daughter front - maybe it's December that brings out the worst in kids?  My 2 boys are 11 and 14 and both in puberty.  My life is so much fun!  lol

Aww the joys of children.  How old is your daughter?  I have two boys, 13 and 11 1/2......somedays I want to give them away, lol.

Edit:  Just saw your daughter's age.

Loralei....our boys are almost the same age; I sympathize with you.

We are in complete shock, because number one child was the most laid-back child ever (he's 20 now). Dear daughter, however, is a brilliant terror. Not only does she argue, but she reasons like a lawyer. Sometimes I have to leave the room to keep from laughing, and other times I want to run far, far away. LOL

My beef??

I knew I'd have extra skin post RNY.  I feel that I will never have a life again, until I get reconstructive surgery. Because I'm not happy with my body, I seem to be self sabotaging my weight loss. I haven't reached my goal yet.  I need to get my head issues dealt with..

Here is my beef (and it is similar to Hala's and Kim's).  What happened to people having an intellectual conversation that is educational and intellectually stimulating?  Why is it that if our opinions disagree, the other poster has to resort to name calling/character assassination?  I really don't get it.  Tell me my advocacy or opinion is incorrect, but don't call me names.  I had enough of that as an overweight teenager to last a lifetime.  There's really no time or room for that type of behavior in my life today.

My STBX "insisted" that he gets our son for Christmas (hasn't had him for one other holiday this year and not ONE day during school summer vacation (9 weeks)) ...   (This is a man that is taking me to court for 50 per cent custody even though he barely lives up to his every other weekend!)   Fast forward to yesterday when his gf calls and says "We're off to Canada for Christmas and it will be too difficult to take Ian, so we're not taking him for Christmas after all, we'll take him for the week after."     Really?   No "Have you made any plans", "Does this work out for you"  etc etc.   Anyway long story short, I've cancelled Christmas with my boyfriend in Vail for Christmas at home with my lovely son and I'm now off to I Austin, Texas to spend New Year with an OH friend of mine ...

So ...  Because we are now home for Christmas, I decided to break out the decorations and spent yesterday afternoon decorating inside and out.   Looks great!    This morning I go out and put out my trash and all is twinkling merrily.   Go back out to exercise at 8.30 am and there lay (lie?) a string of dancing reindeer and santa completely trashed!!!   My effing next door neighbour has let her dog run around while she puts her trash out and the little **** has trashed my effing decorations!!   I'm tempted to turn the rest into an electrified fence to zap the little ******* when he runs across next time but I realise it's not the dog that's at fault, it's her ...  stupid cow!

I think that's all for today, but I may be back ...

1. I am STILL annoyed that the Chow breeder twice told me things "out of compassion" that weren't true... That I was first in line for a red male puppy (she sold one and kept one for breeding... and those are just the two I know about) and, more recently, that if the last litter of the year that would possibly had red puppies did not have a red male, that they would offer me the one they held back for themselves (they need the red male in order to try to provide more red puppies next year). It is NOT being compassionate to tell someone something to make them feel better or to ease the bad news if you do not follow through with it! It makes it WORSE because then they are mot only heartbroken but ALSO feel LIED to! (This popped back up because I just had to erase the calendar entry on my phone for Saturday, which was when I was supposed to pick up the puppy who died a couple of weeks ago).

2. People who ONLY want gifts that are on the Christmas list. What if I don't FEEL like giving you anything that is on your list? What if it isn't available? What if you specifically asked for pajamas with a top one size and the bottoms in another size but they are only sold in sets with a single size?

3. On a related (but minor) note... Victoria's Secret... why are the pants on all your pajamas so freaking huge compared to the tops??? I thought you were all about women having (or you giving them) large busts, but if I buy a medium pair of pajamas they do not button over my boobs, and if I buy a large to accommodate my chest, the pants are big enough to fit someone 2-3 sizes bigger!

My daughter.  She just turned 30, is beautiful, intelligent, has a good job, nice boyfriend, active social life, lives here in the same city.  Can't be bothered to pick up the phone and call her mom.  We have no major "issues", disagreements, alienation,..... nothing of that sort.  She just does not think to do it.  I know I'm not the only mom in this situation - I have friends with kids about the same age who also can't be bothered to call.  One friend pointed out to her son that his dad traveled for work, so she was home alone the majority of the time and was worried that if something happened to her no one would know.  Did this change his behavior?  Um, no.

It hurts me a lot.  I didn't raise her to be selfish and self-centered.  I was always there for her, no matter what.  Maybe that is what I did wrong,.  I feel she takes me for granted and doesn't seem to get it that I will not always be around.

Thanks for letting me rant!
