nutritional yeast

anyone use nutritional yeast? im kinda curious about it. i want positives and negatives.....

I've had it. It's tasty! It's kind of like Parmesan cheese flavor. 

is it easy to cook with?

I've used it in a faux sausage mix and in a mushroom tempeh mix. It seemed to mix well into them. 

i use it.  not really sure about positives and negatives.  it makes a good cheese substitute in some dishes (i use it in cauliflower a lot).  good source of protein.  there is a sort of earthy flavor to it.

i wonder where i can get a small amount/sample of it. the closest health food store to me sells it in a $12 container, i dont want to spend a alot and not like it.

If you have a Whole Foods near you, they sell it in the bulk bins. You can scoop out how ever much you want. That's what I did when we tried it. I didn't want a 2lb. bag from the local health food store. LOL

Check ebay, or Amazon, that's where I buy my nutritional yeast and ground dry sesame seed .  (I use both in my hummus, yum!) I also buy tahini  online, but I prefer the toasted, ground sesame seed powder, to the liquid. 

My family loves nutritional yeast. I mix it with some ground sesame seed, and it's a great parmesan cheese substitute.

 

I've caught my daughter sprinkling nutritional.yeast  on everything. Even her eggs.

closest one is 4 hrs away. lol i found a place closer!! im going there tomorrow to get some. thanks guys!!!
