1 year surgiversary gift ideas
Hi all,
My 1 year surgiversary is this coming Thursday. A friend of mine suggested that I do something or gift myself something. I don't want this day to go by without note. My surgeon's office has their support group that night. I will be there. I don't have a ton of money to spend. Just curious if others celebrated by purchasing themselves something or going somewhere. Dh and I are going away in 2 weeks for a night away at a B&B.
TIA!
What a great idea! For me I would probably splurge on a new outfit if I could, but I totally get the lack of spare cash - all the recent copays and such have me watching every penny! Perhaps, depending on your interests, you could celebrate by doing something you couldn't do or wouldn't have felt comfortable doing before losing? Or how about this - one thing I am planning on doing down the road a bit is having pictures taken - my friend is helping me with monthly progress pics, but this could be more formal/nice/glamorous! You could go to somewhere like Picture People (or whatever is local for you) - they have reasonable prices, and usually some sort of coupon online. It would be a nice way to remember this major milestone. Groupon and other deal sites usually have great deals on things you would have never thought of doing, too!
Just a few ideas that I know would be fun for me...
Also, congrats on the weight loss so far! My surgery weight was similar to your starting weight on your ticker - I can only hope to be this far along at 1 year out! Great job!

Over Christmas a very good friend got me the most thoughtful gift and I plan to add to it as I go through my life... She got me a Pandora Charm bracelet with a little Camera charm on it (I am a photographer and took pics of her brand new baby girl) ...
Anyway I plan on adding charms as life events go by...they have a suitcase charm that I plan to get at one year out... (also getting for my mom and sister as they both are having wls as well)..... to signify the journey I am on.
:)
