Slim Fast High Protein
My doctor said I could drink the high protein slim fast since the one he sells is so expensive. He said it has to be the one in the can though, not the bottle. I don't understand that though...the bottle has 20 grams of protein vs 15 in the can. Did anyone have this before surgery? If so, how did it work for you? He said I would have to drink 5 a day.
I used the Slim Fast too but now I get Premier Protein at Costco. I think it tastes better and it's cheaper, if you have access to Costco. Plus 30 g of protein!!
It's in my fridge now. I think they are pretty good - I like some others better. I think it is more expensive than buying a container of Unjury Chocolate Splendor - which is better, not quite as low carb.
My NUT told me I could drink the Slim fast low carb shakes. More protein and less sugar.

I'm using them but looking for something higher protein lower calorie. 5 of them a day is a lot of calories at 180 a bottle
My registered dietitian told me not to look at just protein in the drink, but at the vitamins too. She didn't want us doing meal replacement drinks, just protein.
She had some patients who actually got too much of certain vitamins and minerals and caused health problems because they did their vitamins plus meal replacement shakes instead of food and each shake had over 50% of the RDA for certain vitamins. She has limited us to drinks with less than 20% of the RDA of all vitamins.
