I am getting my GB sometime in March, hopefully early March. Only thing left to do are a few tests. Anyway my daughter and I want to go to an all inclusive around Memorial day, hopefully that will be the end of my 3 months.

Do u think I could go I would be on soft foods, I think. It's the only time my daughter can be off. I asked my Dr and she said if its too early, I would have to take aspirin and she would give me a letter to walk up and down aisle and to make sure I took an airplane with a stop over. I hadn't mentioned it would be three months.

Dr says yes, but u guys know what the reality is at 3months, so I desperately want and need your input. Thanks for taking the time.

Three months should be fine.  Will you still be on soft foods then?  I think most people are on are a regular diet by three months out, but even if you're on soft foods, you should have no trouble finding things to eat.

Please note: I AM NOT A DOCTOR.  If you want medical advice, talk to your doctor.  Whatever I post, there is probably some surgeon or other health care provider somewhere that disagrees with me.  If you want to know what your surgeon thinks, then ask him or her.    Check out my blog.

3 months should be fine. I went to Hong Kong (16+ hour non stop flight) at around 1 month post op. just make sure you walk around or at least do leg exercise/stretches at your seat if you can't walk up and down the aisle due to turbulence. I just started soft food stage at that point however to be safe, I brought protein powders with me and and also ready to drink protein shakes with me to Hong Kong. Good luck and hope you have fun!
