Pouch re-shrinking?

I have been ill the last week with very little appetite. I'm starting to feel better and my appetite hasn't fully returned but I'm eating more solids than I was. I ate like it was my first week of solids after RNY and physically i feel stuffed and even though I only ate a tiny bit of poultry and some brocolli I have a sharp pain high up and a general uncomfortable feeling.

I am 16 months out so could eat a decent amount but now a couple of bites and I'm stuffed- just like a new pre-op. not complaining in fact it would be welcome as it could jump start my last 20. Has anyone else experienced this after being sick for a week or so?

Hello and glad to see you. Yes, I have been sick and feel that way too. I am also 16 months out.

Sadly that "shrinking feeling" is apparently short lived.  Oh well I'll just take me time and try to make it last as long as possible.  I was getting really bored with what I was eating and feeling a bit uninspired.  Good time for a re-boot.

The same thing happens with our natural stomach, but it isn't as obvious because of the larger size.  If you don't eat much for a number if days, the muscle fully contracts and so you feel full with less food. People with their natural stomachs who have had pancreatitis and have gone a week or two with no food or even fluids by mouth often notice it.  It isn't really "shrinking", though, because it is very short-lived.

Awwww!  I was hoping it would be a bit longer-lived.  Well now is a good time to get rid of some of the bad habits I had let sneak in again.

Thanks.
