11 weeks post-op: progress so far
RNY on 10/31/12
Hey guys!! Today I am 11 weeks post op, and thought I'd check in. My weight loss isn't going as fast as I thought it would (but YouTube videos seem to have given me an unrealistic expectation!), but it's going. I'm down to 240, from a high weight of 286. I didn't weigh on the day of surgery, so I just consider 286 my pre-op weight. 46 lbs down in 11 weeks is good, but I was expecting to lose lik 5 lbs a week at first. Not so much. I'm still working on hitting my 93g protein goal (I'm around 80 on a typical day), and need to increase my activity. I've only been hitting the gym 1-2 times per week, and it's too freaking cold to walk/jog outside here!! I'm ready for spring already!!
I made a YouTube video tonight, so if you want to watch it, it's at http://youtu.be/OeTofw8yHd0. I'm also on FB and welcome as much support as possible. (Lisa Catheryn) As I get further out from surgery, I feel more and more normal, and around Christmas I accidentally found out that I don't dump, so i think that support/accountability are more important now than ever before.

Hi Lisa. Just got done watching your video and you are doing very well. I am at a standstill till I can get my thyroid in order. I was scheduled for 1/4 but was canceled due to the labs. I am planning on re-testing on the 25th and just maybe I will be at the right number. I am at 238 right now and really cannot lose weight before surgery with the insurance rules. I am drinking protein shakes for breakfast and taking a multivitamin with my boxful of daily meds in order to be in the best shape possible for surgery. Keep up the good work!
